There are various reasons causing baldness. Some people have unlucky hair-heredity, others experience hormonal changes, some others may become victims of highly stressful events, while another group of people, may just ruin their hair-quality by styles and treatments
Hair loss is a medical condition that affects about 25% of men in their twenties and the two-thirds of men over 60. Male-pattern baldness, in general, has no medical side effects other than hair loss, so many consider it as an issue of a purely cosmetic kind, but those who suffers from it, may become a victim of a very tangible psychological trauma.
Hair loss is common among 60 – 70% of men and 4 – 8% of women. In general, alopecia is hereditary, however, some people suffer from it regardless of their parents’ or grandparents’ hair quality and genetics. This is due to what is known as spontaneous mutation, whereby the genetic information is changed at conception.
For thousands of years, people came up with different treatments for male-pattern baldness – from ancient Egyptian pigeon dropping methods to early-20th-century electroshock treatments. Indeed, civilization has never given up the search of that elusive cure, and it wasn’t until recently that scientists actually discovered what causes baldness.
- Nature Lets Us Down: the ”natural” reason for alopecia is of genetic base. There is a gene in our genetic system of male, that converts large quantities of testosterone into DHT (di-hydrotestosterone), which may cause baldness or thinning
- Hormones Harm on Their Own Too: in case of hormonal transformations a common hormone-change-based reason of alopecia is the problem called ”Thyroid disorders”. In these weirdly-named case the loss of hair is caused by both over-production and under-production
- Strong Blood, Strong Hair: Some studies convince that if your blood lacks iron, which in medicine is called Anemia, you may lose hair. So always keep your blood full of all constituents required.
